"In May of 2005, we visited Gulfport Miss. Enchanted by the lovely homes and the calm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. We enjoyed a stroll on the beach looking at the ripples made by the water in the sand. We found many broken shells. My husband and I enjoyed the quiet of the Gulf and the solitude. For there was not a soul in sight. . Those moments are not to be for a long time, as nothing there is the same as we saw it that day. Our memories will remain. . This piece is comprised of shells we found, seed beads, and hand made clay beads from Mexico. I hand dyed the fabric and thread. Llama and Alpaca wool is used with other batting. I love nature and it is always at its best, when quiet on a May day. Ever changing, timeless, and full of energy, the wild crashing of the sea, when driven by a storm." |
